Can my parents avoid insuring me on the sports car?
Paul asked:
Ok, so I just turned 16 and grabbed my license. Now, my parents want to avoid insuring me on the miata, because they are predicting it will being very expensive (you know the whole young male sports car, blah blah blah), is it possible for them to only insure me on our accord and outback, as long as I will not drive the Miata, the only time i ever drive it is when i am with them, will this be effected? Thanks for the help!
lol I know i don’t need the sports car, my parents are just concerned about the insurance on it thats all.

They will have to pay a lot more on the insurance, if theres two other cars avaliable for you to drive whats the problem?
call your company and see if you can write and if they will accept a statement from you saying you will not operate the sports car,
ya \they just don’t pay the bill
therefor no insurance
Yes they can, if you are driving under your parents insurance they have to list you as an “occasional” driver, and they can choose which vehicles you are allowed to drive. If they are in the vehicle with you driving you can drive any of their vehicles.
Nope, sorry! Once you’re driving license is issued, they are bound to report any and all vehicles that you will be operating. If the family owns a sports car, they must exclude you as a driver of it, under any and all circumstances, if they want to save some money on premiums; and you must never drive it, even with your parents as passengers. (It makes no difference whether you’re driving a sports car, sedan, pickup or whatever - the insurance rates are going to go sky high!)
Besides, how will the insurance company know (or believe) that you will only drive the sports car with your parents along? Nope, sorry; ain’t gonna happen!
Yes, they can do what they want!! You are not 18, you are not paying for the Insurance.
You are a kid, you do not need the sports car. You have no rights, and you are NOT 18 yet!!!
Yes, they can exclude you from driving the Miata. To be insured on the other cars, you must be listed as a part time driver, whether your parents are with you or not. Yes, the insurance premium for you is high and will remain so until you are 25.
