Have you stayed in a Homestay? Looking for a place to stay in Beijing during the Olympics?
brad0929 asked:
I’m considering different options for places to stay in Beijing during the Olympic games. One of such options is a homestay. I’m looking for others who have stayed in a homestay, Beijing or not. Would like to hear about your experience and get advice. Thanks!

Well I’ve never done a homestay but I’d advise you to check on the home you’re considering whether this home has a western style toilet or an asian style toilet. If asian, you’ll have to get used to squatting.
I would advise against it unless you know the people you are going to stay with.I do homestay most of my travels but only with relatives and friends. I personally prefer to stay in hostels when travelling to strange countries, there you get to meet and make friends with all nationalities. Try this website:
I suggest you should get help from your chinese friend, they can help you find the right homestay in beijing.if you really don’t want to reside in hotel, i can give your my advice for location, conditions and so on, according the games you wanna visit to.so please free to contact me.by the way, there is no real homestay in china, so maybe just live alone with one independent house or room, of course all things prepared for living.
