A gazebo can be a fantastic addition to your hot tub. It serves many different purposes, starting with the added style and look that it gives your yard and your hot tub. You can hire somebody to build it for your or you can take on the task of building it yourself.

Choosing to build the gazebo yourself

If you choose to build your own hot tub gazebo, you’ll need to be at least somewhat well versed in carpentry and construction. You’ll also need to have a wide range of tools available at your disposal. If you really know what you’re doing, you can work up a sketch of your own ideas and build it right from that.  

This is the type of project that may take one or two weekends to complete, depending on your knowledge, tools and skills.  You will most likely want to install either screens or Plexi-glass around the gazebo so that you can keep bugs out, as well as some cold air, although there are many people who prefer the open gazebo. 

Choosing to buy a prefabricated gazebo

Hot tub gazebos are sold as finished products, and there are many different choices of styles and designs available. When you purchase a prefabricated hot tub, you’ll only need minimal amounts of tools and time to get it installed. This is the best idea when you really want a gazebo as soon as possible, when you don’t want to struggle to build it yourself or you don’t want to spend the money to have somebody else build it for you. 

Hiring professionals to build a hot tub gazebo

Just as with any other construction job or chore, you can hire a professional carpenter or handy man to complete the job for you. Depending on what you are requesting, and your budget, they may choose to build your gazebo from a partially completed kit or they could build it completely from scratch, choosing all of the materials individually and personally. Hiring someone to build your gazebo is typically the most expensive of the three options. 

The materials used for the hot tub gazebo can be wood or PVC.  Many people today who have a hot tub gazebo prefer the PVC that mimics the look of wood because it will not rot and requires little or no maintenance.   A wood hot tub gazebo, just like a wood deck, requires staining and sealing to keep it safe from the elements and will only last a certain number of years before it needs to be re-stained or painted.
