I’m starting a new job as a bartender at a sports bar, what should I wear to rake in big tips?

As a former bartender I would recommend shorts definitely. A baseball shirt or something like that would go along with the theme
well, when i bartended, I wore a nice v cut shirt and soem nice jeans with comfortable shoes with a small heel. I always called my tip money *** money because I have large *******. But, I did make great tips, but i was a really good bartender. ALways wait on your customers first. I see too many bartenders sit and chat with their friends instead of waiting on patrons. I always cut my tips for that. Be cool and sweet, learn to BS with the guys and learn to take a compliment!! Good luck!
T-shirt and jeans is always sweet! You know, the cool guy going to a game look! Perhaps wearing team t-shirts or caps occasionally.
Show some cleavage and be friendly.
Show your cleavage.
Coach
Wear a sports jersey for a local team, your state is o.k. but the more local the better.(preferably your city.)
Be a good bartender and the tips will come. Be an idiot and they won’t because there is no magic in hard work. Of course if you are a good looking girl that too will help.
sleezy but nice clothes with a sports jersey that has been cut at the belly button only if u have nice abs though and have an ok tan.
I’m assuming you’re female if you are asking this question. I, too, bartend in a sports bar and it comes down to a combination of two things- clothing that flatters your assets, and a general grasp of sports. Most of your customers are going to be men, and to them, there is nothing sexier in a sports bar than a hot ***** debating sports with them.
I spent 45 minutes yesterday discussing golf and football with a guy at my bar while he not-so-subtely looked at my cleavage, and he tipped me $10 on 3 beers.
Good luck to you! Bartending is great fun.
(I’m assuming you’re a woman here)
I’d say wear something relatively revealing but not too risque. The low-cut V shirts sound like a good suggestion.
I’d also say be attentive to your customers. Try to study up on your local sports team/s. Be ready to offer up a good observation on the team that’s playing. The argue-about-sports shows can help you keep up on sports news if you’re rusty (PTI/Around The Horn are 2 good ones).
Since it’s a sports bar, you probably won’t have to worry much about mixed drinks. Know how to make a good Long Island Ice Tea and you should be fine (I’d say it’s the only popular non-highball drink you’ll likely have to make at a sports bar).
And, of course, FLIRT!
