Disagree, and agree. Some songs don’t belong on there.

  2. Funny Mon 20 Feb 2008 at 4:24 pm

A lot of those are not hard rock..

  3. Sims Son 23 Feb 2008 at 8:31 am

some of the songs deserve to be there, but not all. like the who’s ‘my generation’.” its a great song, but i wouldnt classify it under hard rock. im also kind of mad that they dont have as much music from the present.

How the hell did Guns N’ Roses top the list? Am I missing something? Peace.

  5. POCKET JOKERS - THE DARKSIDEon 25 Feb 2008 at 8:52 am

What the helll vote = Andrew WK, Twisted Sister, Kid Rock & Creed

Nice to see Anthrax, Korn, FNM, Rollins Band, Alice In Chains

Every list will cause a debate but the top10 has some good one’s so it’s not the worst list i’ve ever seen!

Half and half. I think that Nirvanas “Smells Like Teen Spirit” should have been #1 though. And Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” should not have been even on their because the original was a mix with Run-DMC.

I strongly agree with the presence of Queen, Velvet Revolver, Guns n’ Roses, Judas Priest, Metallica, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Led Zepelin, The Clash, Blue Oyster Cult and Black Sabbath! :D

  8. RIDE THE LED ZEPPELINon 28 Feb 2008 at 1:01 pm

The fact that Guns N’ Roses won is a joke..

and Iron Man wasn’t even on the goddamn thing.

  9. Mr. W [hello... my name is Luka]on 01 Mar 2008 at 6:16 pm

It’s ok. The top 5 is ok, except Won’t Get Fooled Again and Enter Sandman should switch… But everything else… Seriously, Rock N’ Roll All Nite is better than My Generation, Search And Destroy, Bullet With Butterfly Wings? I think that The Final Countdown should be number one.

Meh, nothing new. Vh1 giving ******** to the mainstream, rather than appreciating the underground scene (or frankly, anything that hasn’t topped the charts).

  12. Ashley Aon 04 Mar 2008 at 2:49 pm

I think alot of the songs in there didnt belong to the category and alot of people were left out, thats just my opinion though.

  13. Hoagie (The Hippie)on 05 Mar 2008 at 11:46 pm

Needed a different host, one who actually knew what hard rock was all about.

Some bands needed to go backwards in the countdown, some needed to be moved up. Some bands just didn’t belong lol.
    Jethro Tull, really?
    Europe, Ratt?!?!

    Lol wow.

  14. maggotfromhellon 07 Mar 2008 at 4:23 am

i agree with some but i think
    master of puppets
    shoulve been there
and if they had to use a twisted sister song *ugh*
it shouldve been that “we’re not gonna take it” song …

  15. Eric R *is Hard To Explain*on 09 Mar 2008 at 3:28 am

That list is rediculously typical of VH1.
    I disagree obviously.

  16. punkkarrit182on 11 Mar 2008 at 5:37 pm

Absolutely ridiculous. Firstly, Led Zeppelin should probably have at least 10 songs on that list (the omissions of Heartbreaker, the entire 4th album, Communication Breakdown, Immigrant Song and the list goes on and on is ridiculous). Secondly, Kid Rock and Korn belong nowhere near a top 100 list for anything. This list is waaaaaay too heavy on cheesy 80s hair metal, which has its place, but does not deserve to unseat bands like The Rolling Stones, who are conspicuously shut out. I would add more Hendrix, Zeppelin, Skynyrd, and Sabbath, and put one or two Black Crowes songs on the list (either Hard to Handle or Remedy). I would also make sure the list is topped by Led Zeppelin, who invented the genre, and everybody since then has just been trying to impersonate them. That intro to Welcome to the Jungle is great, but it’s not on the level of Stairway or Immigrant Song or Heartbreaker.

  17. Geddy Lee = Castrated Elfon 12 Mar 2008 at 10:08 pm

Fair, most of those songs dont qualify as hard rock though

  18. Nirvana Boyon 13 Mar 2008 at 2:48 pm

I still think #1 should have been Stairway To Heaven, Peace Sells should have been a little better then it was ranked, and I’m happy Nirvana got in the top 10 WOOOOOO!!!

  19. Old man black wellon 16 Mar 2008 at 4:12 am

    It was really screwed up
#1 bret michaels was the host
#2 Guns n roses at number one!!?? disgusts me
#3 Aqualung over Thick as a brick by Jethro Tull. bs

The number one hard rock song should have been thick as a brick, running with the devil, or won’t get fooled again(which really isnt hard rock but is still awesome song)

  20. Ryan ton 16 Mar 2008 at 9:35 pm

yeah i was very upset my friend and I who are both 15 but live in the 70’s-80’s listen to only rock where so pissed. GNR are so overrated it gets annoying how they but bands like evanescence in. it seemed they counted any song as long as it had drums and guitar. I thought it was a HARD rock countdown? o well i guess VH1 screwed up another greatest countdown. im also a huge VH fan and i think they have way better songs then running with the devil. I really thought Led Zep would be 1. when i think most influential and perhaps greatest band to ever exist this date and maybe even ever i think Led Zep. They should remake they countdown with some people with common seance next time.

  21. Jonathan Non 17 Mar 2008 at 11:33 pm

Totally shocked that back in black wasn’t #1. I don’t like that song but expected it to be #1. Also shocked that Iron Man and Stairway to Heaven Man in the Box, Metal Health and others.. No Rolling Stones??? No Doors??? But Kid Rock, Jethro Tull, and Dokken? DOKKEN???!!!!!!!WTF?!?!?!?!?!? More that I disagree with but can’t remember right now.
