should i get two economy cars or one luxury car?

i drive alot and plan on getting a car/s later this year. i am trying to decide between getting a brand new acura tl (around 35 grand) or 2 cars; one new corolla type s and a newer civic with low miles (both together will cost slightly less than the acura). i like the idea of having 2 cars because i drive alot out of town, and if one breaks down or has a problem, i know there is a safe backup. plus both are known for dependability and fuel economy. however i really like the acura tl too. i can’t decide. any opinions will help some with my final decision =D
yea that’s another consideration i thought of if i get 2 cars; it will keep milage off each other. the miles pile up fast if driving out of town, but not long enough to fly. but keeping milage off each other for 2 cars is a big point. by breakdown, i don’t mean the immediate future. i have the same opinion of american cars for the first answerer

Well since your considering Japanese junk. You better buy the two.Your going to need them when they do break down.

I **** this opinion that Japanese cars aren’t dependable - they are more reliable than the cars of any other country of the world. The most reliable car in the world in terms of factory returns is the Honda Jazz (Japanese). The most difficult to destroy is the Toyota Hilux (Japanese). Breakdowns aren’t too much of a consideration with them in all likelihood, so unless there’s two drivers, I’d definitely get the single luxury car.

Get the Acura…the chances of a new one breaking down are pretty slim..besides who wants two car & insurance payments at the same time.

I’d go with the 2 cars. The corollas are good cars and so are the civics. I don’t really prefer Acura’s. Honestly I think they’re a waste.

I like the idea of having two cars, one, for the reason you gave.

And two, you can keep the miles off the new one while the used one keeps rolling along…..25-35 k miles a year.

Any way you can get the TL AND a used honda? Maybe a few years older? Keep that TL nice and clean in the garage.?

Fun choice, which car do i feel like driving today……

If you go for 2 cars, make get a Mazda3 and a Mazda6.
They are much better cars than both the Corolla and Civic.

I would get a Mazda6 before an Acura.

I have owned all of these makes, and the IMHO Mazdas are the best cars to drive.

having two cars would be a good idea untill you have to pay the insurance on them..check the rates of having one vs getting the two and if having two comes out to be cheaper….i say go for it!! both cars are really great and you shouldnt have any problems…if you can wait for the 2009 corolla to come out…they refreshed it a bit and looks a bit better than the 08 model

Subaru Outback Sport- 17” Alloys, AWD, plus 5 star safety.
It’s right in between economy and luxury.
