Why do I like dangerous sports and activities?
I’ve always been a mild “adrenalin junkie”
I don’t have a death wish, but I’ve always been attracted towards dangerous sports like downhill skiing and mountain biking.
I’m 51 years old and recently had a serious skiing accident which will prevent me from skiing or mountain biking.
I’m physically fit, but cannot afford another head trauma.
I’ve been hurt numerous times and for some reason I feel better for it after the fact. Kind of feel like I defeated death one more time!
Is this abnormal for a 51 year old man?

Im 15 but i feel the exact same. At the age of 12 i was playing full-contact women’s rugby. I have this thing for jumping off really high things and i love climbing. The only difference is i never get injured, …..well almost never! i’ve broken a knuckle and what-not but life goes on! im sorry to hear about your accident. I look forward to reading the other answers.
Nope I think you really enjoy the thrills of dangerous sports as you feel accomplished and that you have defied fate. Thus, you feel more confident of yourself sometimes.
Well your reaching your potential of age, i say go sky diving or try something exotic like having *** with a man! i had *** with a man without telling my partner and she told me that she wanted to meet the man! next she had his cockkkkk in his mouth while i tickled his balllllls ! Very fun ! ohhh please use condoms
The reason is something called “hunger for endorphins”.
In those circumstances the brain produces a real drug called endorphin; it likes the effect and asks for more. It is the same with tobacco, alcohol or cocaine, only it does not come from outside and it does not therefore destroy the brain.
If you think it is time to put a limit, you should expect and accept a period of “abstinence” after you quit. Then the brain will look for some other pleasure.
You know you can get the same amount of endorphins and ‘high’ from doing other less dangerous activities, such as Yoga, meditation, connecting with your spirit and listening to your intuitive voice.
Now that you are unable to pursue ‘dangerous’ sports per se, I suggest you try those!
